Data Quality
Member CW2101 of the Citizen Weather Observer Program (CWOP).
The positioning and calibration of the weather station sensors has been carefully considered to maximize accuracy of the readings. We use CWOP to help make sure our data is accurate.
The following is data reported to CWOP for Mahomet, Illinois (C2101 in blue) with the predicted data based on surrounding stations (C2101 Analysis in red). Also included is the reported data for the Federal Aviation Administration meteorological station at University of Illinois Willard Airport (KCMI in purple). Willard Airport is the weather most often quoted by news and Internet sources for the Champaign area. It is approximately 10 miles from Mahomet, Illinois.
