...EXTENDED PERIOD OF RAINFALL MAY RESULT IN A RISK FOR FLOODING...
An unseasonably warm and moist air mass will overspread the region
early in the new week, with several rounds of showers and
thunderstorms expected. Rainfall totals of 1.5 to 3 inches are
likely over central and southeast Illinois through Wednesday,
with the higher totals east of I-55. There is also potential for
significant rainfall late in the week as well.
This amount of rain will result in rises on area rivers and
streams, which may cause flooding to develop. People with
interests along area rivers should monitor later forecasts for
updates on this situation.
